Argentina staged one of the great World Cup comebacks, scoring three times in the final 13 minutes to defeat Egypt 3–2 and reach the quarter-finals.

Trailing 2–0 after goals from Yasser Ibrahim and Mostafa Mohamed Zaki Abdelraouf, the defending champions looked headed for elimination before Cristian Romero, Lionel Messi, and Enzo Fernández transformed the contest.

Oufa Shobeir's heroics—including a penalty save from Messi—had Egypt on the brink of a historic upset, but Argentina's bench proved decisive in the dramatic finale.

DAZN News rates each set of players and our player of the match:

Argentina vs. Egypt Player of the Match

Enzo Fernández (Argentina)

Enzo Fernández rose at the back post to head Argentina into the lead for the first time, converting Lautaro Martínez's cross in the 90+2' minute to complete a stunning comeback.

The midfielder had overcome an early knock to his knee and controlled Argentina's tempo throughout with composed ball retention and forward passing.

His tireless movement and intelligent positioning gave Argentina a crucial outlet as they chased the game, and he delivered the decisive moment when it mattered most.
