The biggest match in football is here, as Spain and Argentina will meet tonight with the World Cup on the line.
Spain made their way to this match with a suffocating style that only allowed a single goal throughout the tournament, utilizing their technical and tactical prowess to near perfection. La Roja made an example of high-flying France in the semi-finals, denying Les Bleus the ability to deploy the attacking flair that defined their campaign up to that point.
It was a tantalizing thing to watch, as Luis de la Fuente's side dominated the previously untouchable French side and snatched the label of World Cup favourites away.
However, Argentina won't take Spain's status as the team-to-beat lying down. La Albiceleste are the defending champions after all, and they are looking to become just the third team in history to repeat as World Cup champions.
Lionel Scaloni's men have taken on the mantle of comeback kids in this tournament, after several dramatic victories saw them through to the final. Their most recent win, a 2-1 result against England in the semi-finals, required two goals after the 84th minute after Argentina allowed the game's opening strike early in the second half.
The Argentines' knack for late-game heroics will be something Spain will be acutely aware of as the teams battle for the title of best in the world.

The time for tinkering is over, and unless there are injury concerns it's hard to see any changes to Luis de la Fuente's starting XI. With Spain enjoying an extra day of rest, they should roll out an identical lineup to the one that dominated against France.

Argentina have not made too many changes over the course of the tournament, and they will not stray from the core that got them to this point. Giuliano Simeone made a surprise start against England, but given the scope of this match Rodrigo De Paul is likely to take his place in the starting XI, providing a bit more bite and a lot more experience.
