The Uruguayans come into this match with two points from two draws, most recently splitting the points with Cabo Verde. They are tied with the island nation and in need of a result in this match to ensure advancement into the knockout round.
Meanwhile, the Spanish sit atop the group after a win and a draw, but they could still finish as low as third in Group H if they lose Friday's game.

Matías Viña started Uruguay's opening match but was replaced at halftime and may still be recovering from a pre-tournament injury, meaning Juan Manuel Sanabria is likely to start once again.
