England legend reveals how England can stop Erling Haaland in quarter-final showdown

As England prepares to face Norway in their World Cup quarter-final on Saturday, all the talk will be of how they can stop their biggest threat, Erling Haaland.
Haaland is revelling in his first-ever tournament, netting seven goals so far to make it 14 consecutive games he's scored in for his country.
It was the Norwegian number nine who was his side's match winner in the Round of 16, scoring twice against the Brazilians to dump them out of the competition and celebrating so nonchalantly as if to say 'what do you expect?'.

Of course, the Three Lions have their own superstar striker in Harry Kane, and it's a game which could be decided by the two best frontmen in world football.
So, what can Thomas Tuchel's men do to stop the striking Viking? Well, a man who can offer some answers is former England defender Des Walker, who played for his country in every game at Italia 90.
Walker, who won 59 caps and used to be serenaded by fans by chanting 'you'll never beat Des Walker', exclusively told DAZN News, thanks to Betinia NJ, that the key to handling Haaland is to find the right strategy to stop him.

"The first thing I'd do is organise my team," Walker said.
"With players like Haaland and Mbappe, you've got to accept what they're brilliant at instead of pretending you're going to stop every part of their game. That's not an ego thing - it's reality.
"I'd make sure Haaland never gets into the situations where he's at his most dangerous. If he wants the ball into feet, let him have it there. What you can't allow is balls into the channels or situations where he's running towards your goal.
"I'd stay goal-side, keep his back to goal, force him sideways and make him play where I want him to play. Against players of that level, you need a strategy because, if you let them play to their strengths, they'll cripple you."
Haaland has scored in every game he's played in so far in North America, having also netted the winner in the Round of 32 victory against Ivory Coast.
It means the forward has now scored an incredible 62 goals in 64 games for his country.
