He is two ahead of former German international Miroslav Klose on 16, and France's Kylian Mbappe is set to overtake him after going level with two goals in his team's 3-0 win over Iraq.
Norway reach knockout stages after long World Cup exodus
Considering it's their first World Cup in 28 years, Norway have wasted no time in ensuring that their campaign does not come to an end at the group stage.
A 3-2 win over Senegal in New Jersey saw Norway secure their place in the Round of 32.
The Norwegians celebrated this milestone with their fans by performing a Viking row on the pitch with their fans in the stands, and with the stormy conditions, it felt very apt.

The primary job of France striker Kylian Mbappe is to score goals, and he did with that roaring success, scoring two in his team's 3-0 win over Iraq.
However, the match was delayed by two hours due to torrential downpours, and when the teams emerged for the second half, Mbappe was spotted helping out groundstaff who were trying to get rid of excess water to make the pitch in Philadelphia playable.
Mbappe reflected on the mentally draining evening in his post-match interview and praised his teammates for how they stayed focused.
"It was a very long evening," Mbappe said.
"We spent a lot of time waiting. It's emotionally and mentally draining because we had to stay fully focused and engaged in the dressing room.
"Staying in the dressing room for an hour and a half - almost two hours - while maintaining focus is very difficult. It demands a lot. The players made a huge effort, as did the staff."
