PSG to hijack deal ahead for Liverpool World Cup target
The World Cup shopping list ahead of the summer transfer market is probably onto its third spreadsheet, but one long-term Liverpool target could be heading to the European champions.
The Reds had earmarked Ivory Coast's Yan Diomandé as a possible replacement for Mohammed Salah next season, but it's being reported that PSG have stolen a march on the transfer and are keen to get a deal done.
RB Leipzig are hoping to work out a deal with the French side, where they can loan back the forward for one more season before he moves to Paris.
England's right-back concerns
England head into Wednesday's Round of 32 game against DR Congo, still with concerns over the right-back spot.
It's not clear as of yet if Reece James will recover from the hamstring issue that kept him out of the win over Panama, with Jarell Quansah now also a doubt with an ankle problem.
If James is not fit, Thomas Tuchel must then decide to hope that the Bayer Leverkusen man is fit or go with either Djed Spence or move Ezri Konsa to that position.
