Tuchel not happy with VAR refs 

In case you didn't stay up, haven't watched the replay or have somehow managed to avoid the score, then sorry to spoil your Monday morning, but England won at the Azteca! 

Their roller-coaster 3-2 win was one of the games of the tournament, but in the end it was Jude Bellingham's brace and a Harry Kane penalty that saw the Three Lions defeat Mexico, even though they were down to ten men for the last half hour after Jarell Quansah's red card. 

The decision to send the defender off was one of several that went to VAR, and by and large, the right calls were made, but the England boss wasn't happy with the VAR team and the appointment of South Americans as the officials. 

In his post-match presser, he said, "Just not good enough. The referees just aren't good enough, fourth officials are just not good enough. It's the bottom line.

"Did I see that right? Three people on the VAR from South America, a match like this? I could be wrong, if this is correct... VAR overturns a clear and obvious mistake for the penalty, absolutely not.

"VAR gets involved. He didn't overturn a yellow into a red, he didn't even give the foul, he then overturned a decision that he didn't give as a foul."

Henderson's future place in pub quizdom 

It's 2046, and you're sitting in your local for a pub quiz when the question comes up: 'What player broke his arm and was booked despite not playing a single minute of a World Cup game in 2026?' Hold my beer, lad, I've got this. 

Yes, it's an unfortunate incident, and we wish Jordan Henderson the very best, but what an inauspicious way to end your tournament. 

The veteran midfielder was booked during the second half for encroaching and complaints whilst warming up on the sidelines, and then, in the post-match celebrations, he tripped over an advertising board and is said to have broken his wrist. 

Let's hope he wasn't earmarked for a right-back cameo, and he's on the mend soon.

Yesterday was the turn of Erling Haaland to have his latest say, when his two goals dumped Brazil out of the competition and levelled him up on 7 goals with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Kane's winner against Mexico also means he's just one behind, with all four players still in the competition. 

Could we see a double-figure winning total? And will it go down to the final day? We can't wait to find out.
