
Scotland are preparing for their biggest World Cup test this evening when they face Brazil in their final group match.
While it's a match that carries plenty of anticipation, Brazil are overwhelming favourites to win and possibly inflict more World Cup misery on Scotland, whose place as one of the best third-placed teams is under threat.
If Scotland are subjected to a heavy defeat by Brazil, then their spot in the knockout stages could vanish if other results do not go their way.
One of the frustrations for Scotland has been the lack of creativity in attack, but winger Ben Gannon-Doak brings optimism.
He has been by far Scotland's most creative player, but did not start in last week's 1-0 defeat to Morocco.
With a lot riding on the clash against Brazil, former Scotland international Duncan Ferguson wants to see Gannon-Doak named in manager Steve Clark's starting eleven.
"He’s got that little bit of pace, he can go on the left or right," Ferguson told ITV Sport.
"He’s good on both sides, but stronger on his right. He can be the supply link, he can give that little bit of magic which we need.
"I would start him definitely."
But while many Scotland fans will be delighted to see his name on the teamsheet, there is a catch.
"You’ve got to be worried defensively because you’ve got Vinicius Jr. on the side, and you need to stop him," Ferguson continued.
"How does he [Clarke] stop him? You either put McGinn on that side, or Doaks goes on that side or it goes to a back five to try and stop him because he’s the key player for Brazil."
Vinicius has made an instant impact at this World Cup, scoring a goal in each of Brazil's two previous group matches, and he will fancy his chances against a Scotland defence which struggled against Morocco.
