Location
Flamengo is another Brazilian side located in Rio de Janeiro.
It’s situated in the neighbourhood of Gavea, which is in the South zone of the city.
Origin
The club was first established in 1895 specifically as a rowing club in the Flamengo neighborhood and did not play their first official football match until 1912.
They are one of only two sides never to have been relegated from the top division of Brazilian football.

The Argentine leads the way in the league with seven goals so far in the young campaign, 11 in all competitions.
Manager - Filipe Luis (BRA)
As a player, Luis is best known for his two spells with Atletico Madrid, where he won two Europa Leagues and La Liga. He'll also come up against his former side, Chelsea, where he spent a year in 2014-15.
He moved into coaching when he finished his playing career at Flamengo and was boss of the club's U17 and U20s before landing the top job in October following an interim stint.
How Flamengo qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
Flamengo are one of six CONMEBOL teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and qualify as the winners of the 2022 Copa Libertadores.
The Brazilian outfit defeated domestic rivals Athletico Paranaense in a 1-0 encounter to lift the trophy, thanks to an injury-time finish from Gabriel Barbosa.
