Harry Kane 100: Who will the England captain catch next for all-time caps?

Harry Kane has joined an elite band of England internationals after becoming the latest man to reach 100 caps for the Three Lions against Finland.

The forward struck twice to celebrate in style on Tuesday, as he fired Lee Carsley's side to a 2-0 victory in the UEFA Nations League on his milestone appearance.

Just the tenth man to achieve the feat, Kane joins an elite band of players that includes David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard among them.

But who is the next man that he could overhaul in the standings, and when could he take their record too?

Who is next for Kane to catch?

The next man in Kane's sights will be a historic name in Billy Wright, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back, with 105 caps for England.

Wright's place in international football stands alone, as the first man to reach the historic milestone of 100 appearances at international level by any men's team player.

He spent his whole playing career with Wolves, guiding them to three First Division titles and the FA Cup in 1949.

But it was his reputation with England that helped secure his legacy, enjoying a 13-year international career that stretched from 1946 to 1959.

Succeeding George Hardwick as skipper in 1948, Wright would go on to captain the team in three successive World Cups, in 1950, 1954 and 1958 - more than any other player.

Additionally, his 90 caps as captain is the joint-most by an England international, tied with Bobby Moore, who led the Three Lions to the 1966 World Cup.

Wright was additionally named the FWA Footballer of the Year in 1952, was the runner-up for the Ballon d'Or in 1957 and was appointed a CBE in 1959 upon his retirement.

When could Kane pass him?

If Harry Kane is picked for each England match set to be played over the coming season, he could match and surpass Wright's record during the March international break.

A full further four appearances during the UEFA Nations League would take Kane to 104 caps, meaning he could draw level with Wright in his first game next spring.

He then would be able to pass him with the second game of the international break, which would draw him level with Bobby Charlton and Frank Lampard on 106 caps.
