The Champions League returns this week as 36 of Europe's best teams begin their campaign in the competition's league phase of the continent's biggest prize.
The first round brings several huge ties between the elite clubs across Europe, but perhaps the standout encounter of Matchday One comes as Real Madrid take on Inter.
There are plenty of narratives swirling around these two European giants, as the Italian champions visit Madrid and come face-to-face with a familiar face in the guise of the man who led the Nerazzurri to their historic treble in 2010, Jose Mourinho.
The current Milan team have made the perfect start to defending the Scudetto, including the weekend's late win over Napoli, whereas Mourinho's men come into European action following a disappointing defeat to Real Betis.
Both will want to kick off the new Champions League season by laying down a marker and racking up a statement win as two of the competition's strongest teams clash.

Real Madrid vs. Inter will take place at 8pm BST on Tuesday, September 8, in the Champions League.
That means that fans watching in the US and Canada can see the game at 4pm ET and 12pm PT, while it's an 8am kick-off on Wednesday, September 9, for fans in New Zealand.
The game will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid.
The French superstar was the top scorer in last season's Champions League, and he'll be the favourite to repeat the feat once again in 2026-27.
Since last year's competition, Mbappe has cemented himself as one of the greatest names in football history by becoming both his country's leading goalscorer and the player who has scored more World Cup goals than anyone else.
The one thing missing from his ridiculous CV, though, is a Champions League win.
Lautaro Martinez will once again be Inter's biggest goal threat, but Real will need to cut off the supply line, which is headed up by Dimarco on the Nerazzurri's left flank.
The wing-back was the king of assists last season, notching up 18 in Serie A, double the amount of his nearest rival.
Inter have dangerous players all over the pitch, but Dimarco is often the most productive.
With it being the opening game of this season's Champions League, expect a low-risk approach from both teams, who won't want to slip up on day one.
Therefore, a score draw feels like the most likely outcome.
Prediction: Real Madrid 1-1 Inter
