Real Madrid went down a player early but shrugged off the disadvantage as they eased to a 3-1 victory over Pachuca on Sunday.
Raul Asensio's ill-advised foul on a breaking Salomon Rondon changed the complexion of the match early and gave the Tuzos a lifeline, but they couldn't get past Thibaut Courtois in the Real Madrid goal before Los Blancos made them pay with three straight goals.
Pachuca did get on the board in the second half, but it was far too late as Real Madrid were confortably heading towards victory by then.
