Serie A has always had a strong tradition of showcasing world-class strikers, and the new season will be no different.
Some of the game's best frontmen will be on show, all of whom you can catch across the campaign live on DAZN, but can anyone usurp Lautaro Martinez and as the league's top scorer?
Before the big kick-off, DAZN News takes a look at the top contenders for Serie A's 'Capocannoniere'.
Lautaro Martinez - Inter

Europe's most underappreciated striker, the Inter skipper will once again be the man to beat in the top scorer race in 2026-27.
He finished four goals ahead of the pack last term, winning the Capocannoniere for a second time and putting himself into third place on the Nerazzurri's all-time top scorer list.
His aim this year will be to break the 200-goal barrier for the Milan side and help his club retain the Serie A title.
With the Argentine leading the line, they have every chance of achieving both.
Gonçalo Ramos - Milan
A new name in the Italian top flight this season, as Milan finally ends their search for a new number nine in the shape of Gonçalo Ramos.
The Portuguese hit 45 goals in three seasons at PSG, without ever being a first-choice starter for the club, but at the San Siro he could finally thrive as the focal point in attack.
A penalty box specialist, his finishing could be just what the Rossoneri need to mount a serious title bid, and see Ramos eye the top scorer gong.
With fellow countrymen Ruben Amorim now in charge, this Portuguese pairing could define Milan's season.
Rasmus Hojlund - Napoli

Now a permanent resident in Naples, the former Manchester United forward looks to be Napoli's first-choice frontman for the season with Romelu Lukaku set to leave the club.
The Dane scored 12 times in Serie A last season, but after having his future settled and now under a new manager, he'll be aiming to beat that figure.
Hojlund has all the tools to be a top-class striker in the league, but all that's been missing is some consistency in his game.
If he can find that at Napoli, then he could be eyeing up plenty of goals.
Donyell Malen - Roma

What a signing the Dutchman proved to be for Roma in January. Malen became one of the signings of the season thanks to his exploits in 2026.
14 goals saw him finish second in the goalscoring charts and that was only over half a season.
If the forward can continue in that vein of form going into 2026-27, then there's no doubt he'll be one of the favourites to take home the Capocannoniere.
He and Roma are ones to watch.
Anastasios Douvikas - Como

The surprise package of last season, as he and his Como teammates made history by finishing in a Champions League berth.
The Greek's 14 goals were a huge reason behind the success of Cesc Fabregas' men, so now he'll be aiming to repeat the trick.
Last year was Douvikas' best tally since 2023, but having matured as a player, he's now one of Serie A's most lethal frontmen.
Good news for Como as they get set for a season fighting on more fronts than ever.
