Why a Champions League win could just be part of a historic quadruple for Arsenal

It might seem daft to entertain thoughts of Arsenal winning a quadruple, especially after their humbling 3-2 defeat at the hands of Manchester United.
However, despite their first home defeat of the season, the Gunners are still in the Premier League driving seat and have recovered from setbacks before this term.
Heading into Matchday 8 of the Champions League, and Mikel Arteta's side top the pile and barring a monumental capitulation against Kairat, the summit is where they shall remain.
With the North London club set to embark on the business end of the campaign, this is why they can triumph on four fronts.

Premier League trophy still in their hands
Given what has transpired over the last few seasons, Arsenal's loss to the Red Devils would have brought back the all-too-familiar feeling of concern that supporters have suffered over the past few years.
Having failed to beat Nottingham Forest after Manchester City and Aston Villa had slipped, Arteta's men succumbed to the pressure against a revitalised United and now have just a four-point lead.
However, despite what has been said by pundits and the press, this is not a catastrophe, and the Gunners are still the team to beat in the Premier League.
Arsenal have been the most consistent team in the division, and while they are without a win in their last three, their closest rivals also faltered.
Everyone is raving about Man City again after their victory over Wolves, but it would be presumptuous to assume they are back to their best, having beaten the league's worst team.
The Gunners are still on track to win their first league trophy in 22 years and have the strength in depth to get it over the line.

Arsenal have the tools to win the Champions League
After a narrow home defeat to PSG in the first leg of the 2024-25 Champions League semi-finals, Arsenal battered the eventual champions for the opening 20 minutes of the second leg.
However, two things stopped the North Londoners from finding a goal when it mattered: Gianluigi Donnarumma and the lack of a number nine.
While there is a slight possibility that Italy's number one could stand in their way again, the Gunners do at least have two more attacking options than they had last year.
Summer signing Viktor Gyökeres may not have hit the goal tally that he would have wanted this season, but he has three in Europe and has been getting into the positions where a striker was lacking against PSG.
Moreover, Arteta has been blessed by the return of Gabriel Jesus, who bagged a brace in Matchday 7 against Inter Milan, having missed the second half of last season through injury.
Again, Arsenal's strength in depth has reaped rewards in Europe and even with players absent through injury, they have come out on top as the best side in the competition.
One foot in the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup pedigree
Although there is still work to do for the Gunners to reach the Carabao Cup final, their 3-2 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge has placed them in the driving seat.
Their most likely opponent will be Pep Guardiola's side, but given how inconsistent they have been of late, you would not write off a Newcastle United comeback in the second leg.
With two months to go until the first domestic cup final of the season, there is time to find form, but Arsenal will be the favourites to win at Wembley Stadium.
No team has won more FA Cups than Arsenal (14), and it is the only major competition that Arteta has tasted success with the North London outfit.
The draw has been favourable so far, and with Newcastle and Aston Villa set to meet in the fourth round, the list of genuine challengers is diminishing round by round.
While talk of the quadruple may be premature, it would be hard to deny that the Gunners are the best team in Europe right now.
