Football betting tips: World Cup

Germany vs. Curacao and Netherlands vs. Japan

  • Germany Win & Over 3.5 Goals at 1.5/1
  • Japan to win or draw at 1.75

All odds provided by DAZN Bet. Check out all of their World Cup markets here.

Germany to win with ease

Julian Nagelsmann's side qualified with five wins from six, scoring 16 and conceding only three, but only so much can be gleaned from that, given their weak group.

But they beat the impressive USA side 2-1 in a recent friendly, so while Germany clearly aren't the force of old, they can't be written off with standouts like Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané, and Florian Wirtz, the latter of whom looks much more comfortable in the national side than he does for Liverpool.

Curaçao are World Cup debutants, and if Scotland can beat them 4-1, as they did in May, just imagine the damage the Germans can inflict.

If this isn't a heavy win for Die Mannschaft, something has gone very, very wrong.

Japan to continue shocking big guns

The Netherlands are favourites in this one, but should they be?

Xavi Simons ruptured his ACL in April, and Jurrien Timber and Matthijs de Ligt are also out.

The Orange lost to Algeria in their first pre-tournament friendly, ending a 10-match unbeaten run, and needed two penalties to defeat Uzbekistan last week.

Japan, on the other hand, are flying. They beat England 1-0 at Wembley in March and defeated Scotland 1-0 in Glasgow, adding two more scalps to an impressive list that includes Germany, Brazil and Spain in recent years.

Granted, Kaoru Mitoma and Wataru Endō won't be playing, but Ayase Ueda scored 25 goals for Feyenoord this season, and Takefusa Kubo can be a difference-maker on this day.

All things considered, a win for Japan wouldn't be a major surprise for those in the know, while a draw would reflect where each side is at right now.

Odds correct as of June 13, 2026. Recommended bets are advised to over-18s.
