The Bengals have appeared in the Super Bowl three times, most recently at Super Bowl LVI. The other two appearances came in the 1980s.
| Date | Game | Result |
|---|---|---|
| January 24, 1982 | Super Bowl XVI | San Francisco 49ers 26-21 Cincinnati Bengals |
| January 22, 1989 | Super Bowl XXIII | San Francisco 49ers 20-16 Cincinnati Bengals |
| February 13, 2022 | Super Bowl LVI | Los Angeles Rams 23-20 Cincinnati Bengals |
As indicated, the Bengals reached the big game twice in the 1980s and again in 2022, but they fell at the final hurdle each time.
