'He's bottled it' - Benn lands first blow in Garcia fight week mind games

The pair meet on Saturday night for Garcia's WBC welterweight title, in a fight which will be broadcast live globally on DAZN PPV. 

After touching down in Las Vegas on Sunday, Benn is making his final preparations, including a weight cut to meet the 147lb limit. 

Benn reacts to Garcia no-show at face-off

Tuesday night was set to mark the start of fight week with Benn and Garcia facing off over the famous Las Vegas strip. 

However, while Benn appeared with his father Nigel and the rest of his team, there was no sign of Garcia. 

Benn and his father engaged in a face-off of their own with Nigel pretending to be Garcia before Benn apologised to the assembled media. 

"Guys, I apologise for doing what Ryan does and bottling it," Benn said. "We turn up, we're here ready for the face-off."

'The Destroyer' then issued a warning to Garcia. 

"He needs to get his s—t together because come Saturday he’s in for a real shock. Big shock."

While Benn thought he may have had the last word, Garcia made sure he was heard. 

Responding to a social media post of the face-off on Instagram, Garcia made a jibe at Benn and continued to mock his struggles at meeting the welterweight limit. 

"On you go to the sauna," Garcia wrote. "Glad you wasted your time bud."

The psychological warfare is underway in Sin City, with Benn making the first move. 

Garcia and Benn are set to participate in a media workout on Wednesday, and now there will be a question as to whether Garcia will attend after his no-show for the first official face-off.
