Garcia reveals Benn's biggest flaw ahead of Las Vegas world title fight

Garcia is set to defend his WBC world welterweight title for the first time against Benn on Saturday night, live globally on DAZN PPV and Ultimate Tier. 

Taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, this will be Benn's first outing at 147lbs since he fought Peter Dobson two years ago. 

Garcia reveals Benn's biggest flaw

Garcia is never afraid to speak his mind in the build-up to his fights, and Saturday's meeting with Benn is no different. 

In a fight week interview with Ring Magazine, Garcia went off on Benn, claiming that his biggest weakness is his insecurity. 

"He’s hiding a lot within himself, he’s very insecure," Garcia said. "He knows his boxing ability isn’t up there, and I’m sorry I have to tell him the truth, but there’s no love in war."

The weight cut for Benn continues to be a major talking point going into the Las Vegas showpiece. 

While this will be Garcia's third successive bout at welterweight, Benn is attempting a rapid crash in weight after fighting Chris Eubank Jr. at middleweight in November. 

He did face Regis Prograis five months later at a catchweight, but facing a Prograis who is past his best is not the best way to prepare for one of boxing's biggest stars. 

Garcia was quick to highlight Benn's mixed messaging regarding his weight cut, labelling him "a walking contradiction". 

"He’s a walking contradiction. At one point he says he’s okay and has no excuses for 147, the next interview he says this is like hell, that he’s been dragged down, this weight cut is so hard he cannot make 154, his next fight will be at 160 or 168. 

"He cannot believe in his own words, we can’t trust this guy."

Garcia makes prediction

As is customary in the build-up to a big fight, Garcia was asked to make his prediction, and he was confident it would be by knockout.  

"I know it’s going to end in a knockout, and he’s not going to knock me out," Garcia stated. 

"He’s going to get his a—s whooped, and then he’s going to blame it on going down to 147, it’s clear as day." 

But while Garcia went on the verbal offensive, he is yet to come face-to-face with Benn despite fight week getting underway. 

The pair were set to face off on Tuesday, but Garcia failed to show unlike Benn who then went on to mock the defending champion for being absent.
