Cleveland is one of four NFL teams yet to appear in a Super Bowl.
How many Super Bowls have the Cleveland Browns won?
While the Browns haven't reached the title game, they enjoyed great success before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, winning the NFL Championship in 1950, 1954, 1955 and 1964.
From 1965 to 1995, they reached the playoffs 14 times before the franchise was plagued by off-field issues, culminating in owner Art Modell moving the team to Baltimore and the creation of the Baltimore Ravens.
Modell established the Ravens in 1996 and retained all the contracts of Browns personnel, meaning the Cleveland-based franchise was forced to cease operations.
Once allowed to resume operations in 1999, the Browns endured a 17-season playoff drought from 2003 to 2019, which ended in 2020.
