FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Men's Qualifiers: Schedule, nations and how to watch live on DAZN

Eighty nations are vying for 31 spots to join host Qatar in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, with 12 teams advancing from Europe, seven from the Americas, seven from Asia/Oceania and five from Africa.

African qualifiers

Following the second window of the tournament in Egypt and Senegal last February, 16 national teams are still battling it out for places at the 2027 Qatar World Cup.  

Libya, Madagascar, Rwanda and Uganda are all bottom of their respective groups and will be eliminated unless they can pick up some vital points in window three.

Like the FIBA AfroBasket, the World Cup African qualifiers are a source of national pride, with teams looking to put their countries on the world basketball map. 

The final rosters have yet to be finalised, but if the preliminary rosters are anything to go by, expect to see Brancou Badiou (Senegal), Aliou Diarra (Mali), Bruno Fernando (Angola), Ehab Amin (Egypt), Assemian Moulare (Ivory Coast) and the reigning AfroBasket MVP, Childe Dundao, all in action over the three-day competition.

European qualifiers

Window three promises to add drama to this fierce competition for 12 spots in the 2027 Qatar World Cup as it is the final opportunity for several nations to save their standing.

A host of nations have already advanced to the next round regardless of their Window Three results, including: Spain, Georgia, Turkey, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Israel, Poland, Finland and France.

Cyprus are the only team to have already been eliminated and could be joined by the likes of Great Britain, Romania and Belgium, who all occupy bottom spot in their groups.

Expect to see Mario Hezonja (Croatia), Tomas Satoransky ( Czechia), Isaac Bonga (Germany), Tornike Shengelia (Georgia), Alberto Diaz (Spain), Sylvain Francisco (France), Mikael Jantunen (Finland), Mateusz Ponitka (Poland) and some of the Window 1 stars such as Tarik Biberovic (Turkiye), Ignas Sargiunas (Lithuania) and Oleksandr Kovliar (Ukraine).

Asian qualifiers

Australia and the Philippines have already secured their qualification for the second round of qualifying, along with hosts Qatar, but there is still plenty to play for in window three.

As it stands, Guam, Chinese Taipei, Iraq and India are all at threat of elimination unless they can collect the all-important points and leapfrog their rivals.

Like the FIBA Asia Cup, the World Cup Asian qualifiers are a source of national pride, with teams looking to put their countries on the world basketball map.

The likes of Yuta Watanabe (Japan), Hu Jinqiu (China), Sam Mennenga (New Zealand), Brandon Gilbeck (Chinese Taipei), Sina Vahedi (Iran), Hyunjung Lee (Korea), Wael Arakji (Lebanon) and the reigning Asia Cup MVP, Jaylin Galloway, should all be in action over the coming days.

Americas qualifiers

A collective of nations have already advanced to the next round of qualifying, including the Dominican Republic, United States, Canada, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, but there are still several spots available.

Nicaragua, Bahamas, Chile and Cuba are all under threat of being knocked out and face key fixtures if they are to progress to the next round of qualifying.
