Tim Tszyu can once again impress American fight fans when he faces Keith Thurman in Las Vegas later this month.
The Australian star will welcome Thurman to 154lbs and victory for Tszyu can open the door for even bigger fights during the remainder of 2024 and beyond.
Thurman, a former world champion at welterweight who lost to Manny Pacquiao in 2019, is aiming to make up for last time following numerous periods of inactivity since losing to the Filipino.
Kevin Cunningham, one of boxing’s leading trainers, has had his say on the imminent battle and he’s offered advice to Tszyu.
“If I were training Tim Tszyu, I’d apply pressure and try to break Thurman down into the body,” said Cunningham when speaking to Fight Hub during a trainers’ roundtable session.
“Thurman is moving up in weight and has had trouble with body shots in the past, so we’d test that breadbasket.”
