One of the most important jobs for a boxer is to make weight. Ra’eese Aleem didn't meet his obligation.
On Friday, Aleem failed to make weight ahead of the IBF featherweight title challenge versus Angelo Leo. The fight has been pulled. It is unknown at this time of writing what the new headliner will be for Saturday's event, live on DAZN from Atlanta, Georgia.

Aleem, 23-1 (12 KOs), blew past the 126-pound limit on the first attempt, coming in at 128.8. Under the rules of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, fighters are allowed one hour to cut and make the weight. But Akeem was unsuccessful, weighing in at 128.
“It’s unfortunate,” Leo promoter Garry Jonas said Friday to Boxing Scene. “We didn’t wish that on Ra’eese Aleem. He lost the opportunity to fight for the title on the scale, and, unfortunately, it’s not in Angelo Leo’s best interest to fight him.
“We look forward to Angelo Leo being back on a Top Rank card in the near future.”
Akeem was the mandatory challenger for Leo's 26-1 (12 KOs) IBF belt. It is unknown if the fight will be rescheduled for a later date or if Leo moves on to possible unification bouts against either WBO titlist Rafael Espinoza or WBC titleholder Bruce “ShuShu” Carrington.
