'No one wants it more than me' - Joshua names the key motivation for facing Fury

That's his key motivation after reacting to his second-round knockout win against Kristian Prenga on Saturday night. 

For a moment, it looked like any hopes of a Joshua-Fury bout later this year had vanished after the former was knocked down twice in the opening round before stopping Prenga in the second. 

This performance came more or less 24 hours after Fury stopped Mariusz Wach, but just like Joshua's victory, it posed more questions than answers. 

'I just want to beat Fury' 

Joshua was very emotional in the aftermath of Saturday's win. This was the first time he fought since losing two of his closest friends in a car crash seven months ago, and at times, it felt like mentioning Fury's name and looking ahead to his all-British showdown was disrespectful. 

However, it was a topic 'AJ' was happy to talk about. 

Throughout the fight week for his own clash with Wach, Fury was not too complimentary of Joshua, but for the two-time heavyweight champion, he is not affected by Fury's war of words. 

"I don’t know why they are so moody all the time, it’s only a fight. If you’re good enough, you haven’t got to be effing and blinding," Joshua told The Stomping Ground.

But does Joshua hate his rival with all the hostile Fury comments that come his way? 

"No, I don’t know him enough to hate him. I just want to beat him, that’s all, nothing personal."

Joshua then went on to state that he wants this long-awaited meeting with Fury more than anyone, and is confident he can deliver a knockout finish. 

"No one wants it more than me.

"I got the power to [knock out Fury]. After today I’ve learnt a lot. I know what I can do now."

An announcement on the date and location for Fury vs. Joshua could be made as early as this week, and while both heavyweights may be past their best, it is still a fight which will generate plenty of interest.
