DAZN News rounds up the day's biggest boxing stories on Wednesday, September 9.Â
Super featherweights Anthony Cacace and Nick Ball are set to meet on December 19 in a fight which has all the ingredients to be an all-action affair.Â
Cacace, who was the WBA world champion at super featherweight, has been given 'super champion' status, and will be allowed to defend his label against Ball. Â
Meanwhile, Elnur Samedov has been made the full WBA champion at 130lbs, therefore, the winner of Cacace-Ball must face Samedov next.Â
Tim Tszyu is set to have a shot at becoming a two-weight world champion, with Fox Sports Australia reporting a deal is close for a clash with WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara.Â
George Rose, who promotes Tszyu, confirmed discussions had taken place, and teased that an announcement is close.Â
"We've had great discussions with Lara's team," Rose said. "And I feel like something is close to being announced."
This fight would likely take place in Australia and Tszyu will be riding high on confidence after beating former unified welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr. in July.Â
Britian's Conor Benn looks to become a world champion for the first time against US superstar Ryan Garcia this Saturday, September 12.
Watch the fight exclusively in the UK & Ireland and other territories (check for availability) on DAZN PPV or included in our Ultimate Tier subscription.
