'BoMac' issues Crawford defence
Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre wants Terence Crawford to be left alone in his retirement, as various rivals continue to push for a bout with the Nebraska superstar.
'Bud' hung up his gloves after dethroning Canelo Alvarez as undisputed super-middleweight champion last year, and has so far resisted offers to return.
With Jaron Ennis and Ryan Garcia both chasing him however, McIntyre has told the star's potential rivals to pipe down and leave his ex-star to his rest.
"I don’t care if Crawford's got one hand," he told Fight Hub TV on his foes. "You cannot touch him, so leave him alone. Let the man be happy in retirement."
Allen hit with broadside claim
Dave Allen should be disqualified following his bizarre no-contest encounter with Thomas Carty at Croke Park, claims the latter's manager Michael Ofo.
'The White Rhino' caught his opponent between the ear and the back of the head in the first round, with his foe subsequently tumbling through the ropes.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Ofo believes that the sport's officials will overturn the ruling however, suggesting it was intentional foul play by Allen instead.
"What happened was plain to see with Allen blatantly fouling him twice," he said. "There is only one outcome under the rules of boxing - a DQ loss for Allen."
Smith focused on Puello over Azim
Dalton Smith stresses that Alberto Puello is a "harder fight" than Adam Azim, but admits he would still be open to a possible bout with his domestic rival.
The Steel City fighter defends his WBC super-lightweight title next month in his native Sheffield against the former champion in a highly anticipated clash.
Azim is expected to challenge for his own world title later this year, teeing up potential unification, but Smith is remaing focused on the task at hand now.
"I’ve got harder fights in front of me," he told The Ring. "For me, [Puello is] better than Azim, but if it makes sense, then of course it’ll be a fight that happens.”
