Crawford issues 'Boots' warning
Terence Crawford has warned Jaron Ennis that he must improve in any bout against Vergil Ortiz Jr. following victory over Xander Zayas.
'Boots' is expected to bid for a super-bout against the WBC super-welterweight interim belt holder after taking the WBA and WBO straps.
But 'Bud' believes Ortiz could cause issues for the pound-for-pound star, addressing some major concerns on The Ariel Helwani Show.
“If [he] gets hurt like he did the last time, Ortiz [will] finish him," he said. "He’s got to tighten up his defence. He got to stop exchanging."
Tszyu handed prime WBO spot
Tim Tszyu has been handed the number-one rank by the WBO at light-middleweight ahead of the star's bout with Errol Spence Jr.
A former champion before his loss to Sebastian Fundora in 2024, the Australian has been rebuilding to the summit ever since then.
His new plum spot beneath champion Ennis however could add an additional twist to his impending bout against the returning Spence.
Victory for either man would likely assure them of a prime shot at the full crown within the next year, depending on other factors.
Itauma not ready for title shot?
Moses Itauma is not ready for a world title shot, with Olympic gold medalist Audley Harrison believing the star needs further development.
The young Briton faces Filip Hrgovic this August, but has also been ordered into discussions with Frank Sanchez for the IBF belt.
Yet Harrison, who topped the podium at Sydney 2000, does not feel it is the right time for Itauma's backers to put him in for a crack.
“[He’s a] great prospect, [I] love everything he’s doing, but stop talking to me about world titles for Moses," he told Sky Sports News.
