Davis out until 2027 at earliest

Gervonta Davis will reportedly not return to the ring until 2027, with the American star expected to return after the new year.

'Tank' has faced a succession of legal troubles outside the ring since the collapse of his bout with Jake Paul last November.

Plans had been afoot for the star to face Devin Haney this year, following a protracted back-and-forth across social media.

But for now, Davis appears to be parked up, with The Ring effectively confirming he is six months away from any comeback.

Rose eyes Paro-Kambosos bout

An all-Australian bout between Liam Paro and George Kambosos could be on the cards, per No Limit Boxing's George Rose.

The promoter hopes that the former, who earned the IBF welterweight strap against Lewis Crocker, could face the latter soon.

Kambosos previously challenged Richardson Hitchins for the strap just over a year prior, and Rose is hoping to secure a clash.

"If we're talking about a great domestic matchup, Liam Paro versus George Kambosos here in Australia," he told Boxing Scene.

 

Porter backs Haney over Stevenson

Shawn Porter believes Devin Haney could prove too big for Shakur Stevenson if the pair agree terms for a super-fight this year.

The duo have been linked in recent weeks, in what would be a power move to pit two of America's pound-for-pound stars together.

But speaking on his podcast, Porter suggested that Haney might have the edge thanks to his broader frame and overall shape.

"Devin Haney on fight night is going to be bigger, stronger, just as fast, just as skilled" he said. "I think it might be too soon for [Stevenson]."
