Dubois splits from coach

Caroline Dubois has split from her coach Shane McGuigan before her unified lightweight defence against Amelia Moore next month.

The star is seeking to tee up a potential sweep of the division, and has reached the summit with the famed trainer by her side thus far.

But Dubois will move onto new pastures, telling Sky Sports News: "At the end of the day, I'm so proud of the journey we had together.

"That work doesn't get forgotten, lost or disappear; it grows and adds to the stable. I'm honoured, proud and privileged to be part of that."

Berlanga unfazed despite knockdown

Edgar Berlanga has insisted he was not concerned by an early knockdown in his victory over Steven Butler, recovering for a handy win.

The star returned to action a year on from his defeat to Hamzah Sheeraz, and showcased the best of his skills to take a steady victory.

Yet Berlanga was forced to rally after his foe left him on the canvas early on - though speaking afterwards, he insists he was not in danger.

"It was a good hook," he was quoted by The Ring. "But I’m a warrior, shook it off and got right back to it. I was good, I wasn’t hurt or anything."

Benn backs Lomachenko over Davis

Conor Benn believes Vasiliy Lomachenko would likely outlast Gervonta Davis despite his prolonged inactivity if the duo were to finally meet.

A clash between the Ukrainian and the American has been mooted as the former embarks on the comeback trail two years after his last bout.

Davis has faced a succession of legal problems outside the ring that has hampered his own form - and Benn believes it will hinder his chances.

"Currently, right now, Lomachenko," he told the Daily Mail when asked to pick which man could come out on top in a likely clash between them.
