Fury vs. Joshua set for November claims Hearn
He may have been promoting Oleksandr Usyk's upcoming heavyweight fight against Rico Verhoeven on Tuesday evening, but all the talk for Eddie Hearn was about Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua after the pair exchanged words on Saturday night.
Joshua was ringside for Fury's win against Arslanbek Makhmudov, and rumours gathered pace that a fight between the two Brits was set to be announced in the immediate aftermath of Fury's win.
Instead, nothing was officially announced, and Hearn clarified to Sky Sports that the plan is for Joshua to face Fury, with November being targeted as a date following a possible warm-up fight in the summer.
"We expect to see him back in the ring in July. The original plan was to fight in March, then to fight Tyson Fury in August," Hearn said.
"Given everything that has happened, that has been delayed. July and November are the two dates that have been presented to us now and we expect to move forward."
Makhmudov reacts to Fury loss
Arslanbek Makhmudov believes he drew his fight with Fury on Saturday night.
In the eyes of many, Fury dominated, and cruised to a comfortable unanimous decision, but speaking to Seconds Out, Makhmudov claimed the fight was "close".
"It was a close fight,” Makhmudov told Seconds Out.
“I don’t feel like I lose. I feel like it was at least a draw. For sure I don’t lose.”
Donovan heading to Germany in world title eliminator
Irish welterweight Paddy Donovan's next move has been confirmed following his loss to Lewis Crocker in September, and he will be making a trip to Mannheim, Germany.
He will be facing Karen Chukhadzhian in an IBF eliminator with Chukhadzhian's promoter, EMX Sports, winning the purse bid to stage the fight.
The fight is set to take place on May 15 with the winner earning themselves the chance to face current IBF welterweight champion Crocker.
