Garcia slates Benn record
Ryan Garcia believes he will be a bridge too far for Conor Benn, suggesting he can dispatch his rival inside five rounds.
The pair meet in Las Vegas for the former's WBC welterweight title, but the American is already unimpressed by the Briton.
"He’s only fought guys that are on the way out,“ he was quoted by The Ring. “He’s never fought a young, hungry fighter.
"This is his first time ever doing it. We’re going to see what he has. This is a promise. Five rounds is all it’s going to take."
Crawford reveals failed bout
Terence Crawford has revealed that he was due to face Janibek Alimkhanuly, with the star reflecting on a missed chance.
'Bud' hung up his gloves last December after defeating Canelo Alvarez for undisputed super-middleweight kingpin status.
But speaking on The Breakfast Club, the Nebraska fighter has now revealed he was due to face Alimkhanuly at one point.
"Then it came out that Janibek was on performance enhancers," he said. "That fight got cancelled. I’m into making history."
Pacheco eyes Munguia next
Diego Pacheco hopes to earn a crack at WBA champion Jaime Munguia after he defeated Immanuwel Aleem in California.
The Mexican-American showed his super-middleweight credentials once again with a sturdy performance on Saturday night.
But now, the star is chasing a shot at Munguia, who has defeated Armando Reséndiz in May to earn his strap at the summit.
Pacheco previously passed on potential title bouts with Christian M'billi and Hamzah Sheeraz amid changes in his team.
