DAZN News rounds up the biggest boxing stories on Wednesday, July 1.
Devin Haney and Keyshawn Davis have been set a timeframe to settle a deal for the pair to meet in a WBO welterweight title contest.
The latter is mandatory challenger to the former, but has been left to kick his heels as Haney pursues a bout with Shakur Stevenson.
Now however, the WBO have informed both men to strike a contract in the next three weeks, or face a move to possible purse bids.
It will come as a blow to Haney, who had hoped to pursue other opportunities, with Stevenson and Gervonta Davis trailed as options.
Albert Bell is prepared to seize his WBO lightweight title shot opportunity with both hands as he prepares to face Abdullah Mason.
The star was parachuted in at short notice after Joe Cordina was forced out of this weekend's blockbuster bout, live on DAZN.
Now Bell is ready to make the most of his unexpected chance, and has vowed to show why he should have had a bid in the first place.
"This is the opportunity I've been waiting on," he told The Ring. “To get a direct shot at the belt made too much sense. May the best man win."
Lester Martinez has thrown his hat in the ring to face the winner of Canelo Alvarez and Christian M'billi's impending super-middleweight bout.
The latter pair recently pushed their contest back from September to October, as the Mexican bids to regather his onetime WBC crown.
But Martinez, who previously faced M'billi, is keen to line up a crack at whoever exits Saudi Arabia with the title around their waist.
"I’m going to be watching with a close eye on the fight between Canelo and M'billi, and hoping to get whoever wins that fight," he told ProBox TV.
