DAZN News rounds up the biggest boxing stories on Thursday, June 18.
Moses Itauma is in the crosshairs for Murat Gassiev, with the WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion mulling a potential bout later in 2026.
But the latter still believes his potential rival should take his time on the route to the top and prioritise the rest of his career rather than rush.
"[Itauma] is very young, he has a lot of time," he told Sky Sports News. "Right now he just needs to enjoy, have fun in the gym, in the fights.
"He has a good future. Right now he went this way, I went that way. Maybe, at the end of the year or maybe next year, we can make the fight."
Terence Crawford has suggested he failed to knock out Canelo Alvarez thanks to the star's iconic red hair in the pair's bout last September.
'Bud' hung up his gloves after becoming just the third man to defeat the Mexican superstar, taking his undispited super-middleweight crown.
But as he continues to enjoy retirement, Crawford has suggested that there is a genetic reason as to why he did not stop his opponent too.
“They say that redheads are hard to knock out," he told The Joe Rogan Experience on his struggles. "It’s proven. Gingers. I promise you."
Anthony Yarde has suggested that David Benavidez failed to hurt him compared to Artur Beterbiev in his light-heavyweight bouts with the pair.
The Briton has shared the ring with both men across his career, and opened up to talkSPORT on the difference between their respective styles.
"I’ll say Beterbiev was the strongest, the hardest," he said. "With Benavidez,  he’s whacking [me] but none of these shots are really hurting me.
"[He’s got] very, very fast hands. I fought them at different times. It’s hard to say. They’re just different fighters stylistically."
Xander Zayas defends his WBO and WBA super welterweight titles against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis on Saturday, June 27, exclusively live on DAZN. Buy as a one-off PPV or included, along with Joshua vs. Prenga (July 25) and Canelo vs. M'billi (Sept 12) PPVs, with a DAZN Ultimate Tier subscription.
