Hearn backs Moses for glory

Moses Itauma is the rightful favourite to topple Filip Hrgovic in their IBF heavyweight bout, with Eddie Hearn backing the Briton's chances.

The pair will meet on Saturday, August 29 at London's The O2 Arena, in a world title encounter live on DAZN Pay-Per-View and Ultimate.

Hearn feels Moses is up to the challenge after Queensberry Promotions boss Frank Warren persuaded Frank Sanchez to step aside too.

"I think he has to fight the winner," he told iFL TV. "Moses is a massive favourite and, if he wins, he becomes world heavyweight champion.”

Simpson eyes world title shot

Callum Simpson remains hopeful of a super-middleweight world title shot, but concedes he will likely need to wait for 2027 to make a bid.

The star earned revenge over Troy Williamson in their rematch on Saturday, regaining the British and Commonwealth titles in the process.

With his rival forced to pass on a world opportunity of his own waiting for the rematch, Simpson wants the chance but is not looking too far.

"I want to be fighting for a world title in [hometown] Barnsley but that'll probably be next summer," he was quoted by The Ring on his plans.

Should Haney face 'Boots'?

Shakur Stevenson believes Devin Haney must move up and target a super-welterweight bout with Jaron 'Boots' Ennis for his next move.

The star is struggling to secure an opponent for his next WBO defence after mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis pulled out of a bout.

But Stevenson feels Haney needs to head up another division and try his arm against Ennis amid a lack of options for him to face next.

“There’s nobody else on the table," he was quoted on social media. "There’s no me, Who do you go to? 'Boots' is free. Go get him.”
