Paro eyes Pacquiao fight
Liam Paro's promoter hopes to book Manny Pacquiao for his star's IBF welterweight title defence after the former dethroned Lewis Crocker.
The Australian edged the Northern Irishman with a narrow victory at Brisbane's Pat Rafter Arena on Wednesday to earn two-weight status.
Now, No Limit Boxing supremo George Rose has laid out hopes that further big names can be attracted to Australia, including Pacquiao.
"They've tossed Manny Pacquiao who is still floating around in the welterweight division wanting to fight," he was quoted by The Ring.
Sheeraz to get voluntary defence
Hamzah Sheeraz will be able to make a voluntary defence of his WBO super-middleweight crown before facing any mandatory challengers.
The star comfortably swept aside Alem Begic last month in Giza to earn his maiden world title, opening up a busy division and plenty of talk.
The Briton has made no secret of his desire to face Canelo Alvarez, though the latter is slated to face Christian M'billi this September instead.
Now, Boxing Scene has confirmed that the WBO will not rush Sheeraz into a mandatory order, allowing him to pick and choose his first defence.
Usyk mooted for retirement?
Oleksandr Usyk could hang up his gloves sooner than expected, with his manager teasing that the Ukrainian may opt to call time on his career.
With a mandatory order to face Agit Kabayel and Rico Verhoeven eyeing a rematch, the legendary heavyweight is not short of options to come.
But Sergey Lapin told Snabbare that his star man, could call time, adding: "It is possible that fans have already seen him in the ring for the last time.
"when a fighter has achieved everything Oleksandr has achieved, every appearance becomes special. Maybe there is still one more chapter left."
