Sheeraz called for all-British battle

Hamzah Sheeraz is in the crosshairs for Callum Simpson, with the latter keen to bring the WBO super-middleweight star to Barnsley.

The British and Commonwealth champion is eyeing a move to world level, and admits a tussle with his fellow Briton would be a dream.

“It might be Sheeraz at Oakwell," he told talkSPORT on a bout. "He’s got the title. It would be in the summer. That would be a huge fight.”

Sheeraz is expected to face Janibek Alimkhanuly next after he was handed a mandatory order following victory over Simon Zachenhuber.

Ex-Paul foe Chavez returns

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will return to the ring this October for his third bout of the year as the star rebuilds from his defeat against Jake Paul.

The star has kept a low profile since his hard loss to 'The Problem Child' and subsequent arrest in the United States for overstaying his visa.

Now, Chavez - a former WBC middleweight champion - will face Jeison Troncoso later this autumn as he seeks to secure a third straight win.

Former rival Paul meanwhile is stepping up his own plans to return in 2027 following a heavy late 2025 defeat against Anthony Joshua.

Itauma backed by rival trainer

Moses Itauma will be too impressive against Filip Hrgovic when the pair meet this month in London, believes respected trainer Don Charles.

The Briton will face the Croatian for the vacant IBF heavyweight title at The O2 Arena, with major history beckoning for the young superstar.

Charles, who trains fellow champion Daniel Dubois, can only see the bout heading in one direction too, and is tipping Itauma to secure glory.

“I think he’ll be too quick, too fresh," he told BoxNation on the fight. "He might have to experience some turbulence, but Moses is just too sharp."
