Stevenson slated by great Toney

Shakur Stevenson has been slated for his achievements by former three-weight champion James Toney, who asks: "What has he done?"

The four-weight superstar is currently weighing up his next options after dethroning Teofimo Lopez Jr. at light-welterweight back in January.

But dominance across multiple divisions these days does not cut the mustard for Toney, who believes Stevenson does not have the scalps.

"[It is the] wrong era," he told About Boxing on his resume. "If he did it in my era, then it would be very impressive but in this era? It’s not."

'Electric' Garcia too good for Benn

Ryan Garcia will be too much for Conor Benn to handle, with ex-Mario Barrios cornerman Bob Santos backing 'Flash' for success in Las Vegas.

The two meet with the former's WBC welterweight title on the line, and Santos believes the American will go all the way against his foe.

"Not only is Ryan a very good puncher, he has electric hand speed," he told The Ring. "The punch you don’t see is the punch that [hurts] you

Fury-Joshua in 'critical' week

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua's long-awaited super-bout has entered a "critical" week for the final details, says Matchroom's Frank Smith.

The British pair appear on course to meet in New York City after months of back-and-forth discussions, with a date and a venue now close.

Yet with Joshua and Eddie Hearn reportedly disgruntled by decisions to move from a United Kingdom venue, there is plenty still to be done.

"The pressure is on over the next week to get it done, I would say," Smith told Sky Sports News. "We're all focused on making it happen."
