Usyk eyes March farewell bout
Oleksandr Usyk is looking to lock in a March farewell bout for his "last dance", with Deontay Wilder in the United States a preference for the star.
The Ukrainian will bring the curtain down on a glittering career next year after reigning as a three-time undisputed champion over two divisions.
Now, reports from The Ring suggest that the veteran's long-pursued option of Wilder will be the frontrunner for a contest due in spring 2027.
Usyk last defeated Rico Verhoeven with a late stoppage in Giza this past May, before relinquishing his slew of heavyweight titles to avoid a mandatory.
Mayer rues Cameron behaviour
Mikaela Mayer admits she did not behave the way she wanted to after her loss to Chantelle Cameron, and hopes there could be a path to a rematch.
The star lost her super-welterweight crowns in a bruising decision to the home favourite in Birmingham, with ugly scenes between them afterwards.
Speaking to Sky Sports News however, Mayer admits she could do better on her reaction, stating: "I am open to the idea that it was too close," she said.
"It wasn't my night, and I have to give her the props for the win. She's a great fighter, and I'm just excited to go fix my mistakes and do better."
Froch backs Moses to recover
Moses Itauma will still become heavyweight world champion, but Carl Froch admits he will be fascinated to see how the Briton response to defeat.
A first career loss to Filip Hrgovic saw the star miss out on IBF honours, but the veteran favourite believes he can rebound with success to come.
“I think he’ll definitely learn," he said on Froch On Fighting. "What mental scars will he have from that? We’ll see going forward, but it was a step too far.
“Maybe he’s been rushed a bit, [but] he’s very, very talented [and] I believe he will come again. He’ll definitely be a world champion.”
