Dalton Smith and Alberto Puello will finally have their dance later this year, when the former defends his world title in Sheffield.
The WBC light-welterweight champion faces the Dominican at the Utilita Arena on Saturday, October 24, live worldwide on DAZN.
Having earned his stripes against Subriel Matias in January, Smith had been due to meet Puello in June before an elbow injury.
Now however, with the Briton recovered, the pair are ready to throw down in earnest, with each star pledging success in the ring.
"I’m delighted the fight is finally back on," Smith said in a confirmation statement. "I'm back training, feeling strong and ready to go.
"Puello has been champion before. I'll be giving him respect, but once that bell goes, it'll be about showing why I'm world champion."
Puello echoed his rival as he pursues the crown he lost to Matias last summer, adding "I'm excited to be fighting for my title again.
"I'm looking forward to becoming a three-time world champion. Smith is a good boxer. I’m excited to give the fans a great fight."
