Chisora was put through the ropes multiple times, and seemingly struggled for the latter half with a swollen eye.

Speaking immediately afterwards in the ring, Wilder suggested that he took his foot off the pedal in response.

"I was telling him in the ring, as I saw his eyes swell and his temple begin to buckle, to live for his kids," he said.

"I started to have fun in there, because I saw my brother starting to hurt a little bit. That's what boxing is all about.

"Too many lives have been lost in this ring. When it's over for us, nobody give a damn, no matter what they say.

"I didn't want to go too hard on Derek. I want him to live for his kids. It's time for us to take care of each other."

Chisora meanwhile acknowledged that he needed to do better when pushed to the fringes by his opponent.

"I'm upset because I came out of the ropes," he added. "If I hadn't come out of the ropes, I'd have won the fight.

"He pushed me out of the ropes once. The second time, I just came out of them for some reason. It happens."
