Ben Davison has faced intense scrutiny since Moses Itauma lost his unbeaten record last weekend against Filip Hrgovic .
The heavyweight pair contested the vacant IBF heavyweight title and in the early stages it appeared that Moses was on his way to becoming Britain’s latest world champion as repeatedly found the target of the Croatian veteran.
Hrgovic was able to withstand the pressure and once the fight passed the halfway mark, it was clear that Moses was struggling with the pace after putting so much into the fight.
This was sensed by Hrgovic’s team and after continuing to push forward against a fading Moses, the referee finally jumped in to rescue the home fighter in the ninth session just before Davison could throw the towel in.

The result means Davison has endured a tough few months and despite many successes, it is his failures that have captured the interest of those in the boxing industry including this most recent result and Fabio Wardley's loss to Daniel Dubois in May .
Derek Chisora, a heavyweight contender, has operated in his division for almost two decades, and after watching Moses fall short against Hrgovic, he has hit out at Davison with some vicious criticism.
“This is for the young fighters, you need to have a good trainer. A trainer who’s been there,” said Chisora when speaking exclusively to DAZN News .
“Can I be honest with you. I don’t rate him [Davison], I don’t f—g rate him, I don’t rate him.
“Ben Davison’s s—t. I don’t rate him. AJ, Fabio, Moses...Pat McCormack in Monaco. The heavyweight in Tottenham, TKV.
“Remember Tyson Fury in the first fight with Ben Davison [against Wilder?] He boxed s—t. The second fight he smashed Deontay. The third fight he smashed Deontay.”
