Derek Chisora returns to the ring this weekend for one last dance as he faces the ‘Bronze Bomber’ Deontay Wilder.
The pair will clash in a main event at the O2 Arena this Saturday, April 4, live and exclusive on DAZN PPV and Ultimate Tier.
‘Del Boy’ has made quite the reputation for himself throughout his career, delivering fireworks every time he steps in the ring and often outside of it too.
We revisit some of Derek Chisora’s biggest career wins as he looks to secure his legacy with a statement victory over Deontay Wilder.
1. Victory over Joe Joyce
In July 2024 Chisora rolled back the years with a stunning win over top 10 heavyweight Joe Joyce, outlasting 'The Juggernaut' in a brutal 10-round slugfest at London’s O2 Arena.
Despite being at the backend of his career, 'Del Boy' produced a vintage performance, dropping Joyce in multiple rounds to make a statement victory.
It was a defining moment for Chisora’s career, who at the time entered the fight as a clear underdog while Joyce was widely expected to use the bout as a springboard back into heavyweight’s top tier following his comeback win over Kash Ali.
2. Comeback against Carlos Takam
In another massive night at the O2 Arena, Chisora produced a dramatic comeback to stop the Cameroonian wrecking machine Carlos Takam in the eighth round.
Behind on the scorecards and seemingly running out of time, Chisora did what he does best, dragging his opponent into deep waters and turning the fight on its head.
In true 'Del Boy' fashion, he shifted the momentum with relentless pressure before sealing the win with a thunderous knockout.
It was a performance that perfectly showed Chisora’s trademark grit and lionheart, refusing to fold and instead finding a way to win when it mattered most.
3. Destruction of David Price
In yet another appearance at the O2 Arena, Chisora showcased a brutal performance in April 2023, with a destruction of 6-foot-9 heavyweight giant David Price before forcing a stoppage in the fourth round.
From the opening bell, Chisora made his intentions clear, marching forward and bullying Price with relentless pressure and heavy shots. He broke the larger opponent down round by round, leaving Price battered and overwhelmed until his corner had no choice but to throw in the towel.
It was a statement win that reminded everyone exactly what the Brit brings when he’s in action.
4. Flatline Knockout of Artur Szpilka
Yet again back at his iconic home venue, the O2 Arena in London, Chisora sent shockwaves across the heavyweight division in July 2019 when he brutally put Polish heavyweight contender Artur Szpilka out cold.
After a vicious accumulation of body and head shots, Chisora left Szpilka unconscious whilst standing, before sinking to the canvas,.motionless, prompting medics to rush in as the referee waved the fight off.
This was a defining moment for Chisora's career as it was a statement of redemption after he had suffered a knockout defeat to Dillian Whyte just months earlier.
Instead of just fading away 'Del Boy' responded in the only way he knows how, with violence and a reminder to the division that he was still a dangerous threat despite his defeat.
5. Rematch against Kubrat Pulev
Just like all the prior in his home arena, Chisora lived up to his 'War' nickname in July 2022, when he pulled off another all time classic against Bulgarian heavyweight contender Kubrat Pulev, edging a close split decision in a highly anticipated rematch
This bout carried extra significance to Chisora's career, as it marked redemption for his 2016 split decision defeat to Pulev, proving to boxing fans that he had grown into the more complete and improved fighter since their first bout.
On top of that, the victory snapped a three fight losing streak, showing Chisora's resilience and his ability to rise back into the top of the heavyweight division.
