“I think it would be disappointing for the British fans, but having said that, the fight is on," he told iFL TV. "If it’s in the UK, great.

"If it’s not, it means 90,000 fans that would see it won’t see it live, but the millions who will watch it on TV will still see it on TV.”

Having originally signed for a British-based fight, plans to move Fury-Joshua have been reportedly motivated by broadcasters.

Netflix will showcase the bout worldwide, with key figures keen to maximise a stateside viewing audience for its full potential.

Further reports have suggested any bout, eyed for November, could take place on a Friday to avoid collegiate football clashes.

Joshua and Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn have reportedly chafed at the decision however, according to the latter.

It's hard to really recall a time before the great Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua date-venue drama, given how long it has gone on.

In truth, years of pent-up back-and-forth discussions between both camps have likely helped stoke the soap opera in play here.

Throw in Zuffa's Dana White, and there are enough wild cards in the deck to make this far from a straightforward affair to handle.

Oleksandr Usyk ally Sergey Lapin seemed to suggest details were imminent earlier this month, further stoking expectations too.

Either way, fight fans will just have to hope the bout itself lives up to all of the hullabaloo that has surrounded its existence so far.
