Fury vs. Joshua is close but Hearn names the major promoter who is barred from staging the fight

Tyson Fury and Anthony’s Joshua long-awaited showdown looks set to take place at the end of 2026, but Eddie Hearn is insistent that one promoter won’t be involved.
In recent interviews, Dana White has claimed that he will be promoting the major heavyweight clash, but Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has immediately poured water on White’s statement.
The Zuffa Boxing boss is currently embroiled in a promotional war with Hearn’s Matchroom and interviews featuring both men have even covered the topic of a possible fight between the pair.
On July 25, Joshua will fight in Saudi Arabia when he looks to build momentum towards his fight with Fury against the lightly regarded Kristian Prenga.

The following month, Fury is speculated to be fighting as he also wants one last fight before taking on his biggest ever rival. If both men come through their respective bouts unscathed then it looks like they will clash around November or December time.
Plans are already in place for the fight and despite White's boasts that he will be the promoter, Hearn has stated that the UFC head will be nowhere near the event.
“The reality is the contract’s the contract. The fight doesn’t take place if they have any promotional involvement in the show,” said Hearn when speaking to iFLTV.
“So it can’t. It specifically says if Zuffa, TKO, I don’t know how many times I got to tell you this. Yes, it specifically mentions them, and anybody associated with that company cannot have any involvement, promotional involvement in the show.
“The reality is, who is going to promote this show is Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren, Spencer Brown, and Turki. We all had a shake. We’re all going to work together on it.”
