Former Makhmudov rival offers bold assessment of Fury opportunity

Fury and Makhmudov are set to meet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what will be the former's first fight in 16 months. 

After beating Dave Allen in Sheffield last October, Makhmudov will not be affected by a British crowd backing Fury, but Kabayel cannot see the 36-year-old giant producing the upset. 

Kabayel expects Fury stoppage in later rounds

Kabayel praised Makhmudov for his willingness to face Fury, but he believes 'The Gypsy King' is on another level. 

Makhmudov is a rigid fighter, who only moves in straight lines which plays perfectly into Fury's hands who will use his slick movement and power to break down his opponent.

Speaking exclusively to DAZN News , Kabayel picked Fury to beat Makhmudov and to do it in style during the second half of the fight. 

"I think he [Makhmudov] has a good motivation for the fight, but this is Tyson," Kabayel began.

"Tyson is very good, he's in shape. I see on Instagram he trains a lot in Thailand, but we will see.

"I think Tyson wins the fight. I think after five, six, seven rounds, Tyson will stop him."

If Fury does manage to stop Makhmudov, it will be the same result as Kabayel's fight with the latter three years ago in Riyadh. 

Kabayel's fourth round knockout against Makhmudov announced the German as a serious player in the heavyweight division, and set him on a path which so far has culminated in becoming the WBC's interim champion at heavyweight.
