Josh Padley edged a close split-decsion in Sheffield against Aqib Fiaz to retain the EBU super-featherweight crown on Saturday.
The star, a former Shakur Stevenson rival, arrived at the Utilita Arena seeking to maintain his status as European champion.
He did so, but not without a war against his domestic rival, as Fiaz pushed hard in his attempts to dethrone him at the summit.
Victory for Padley ensures another defence is likely around the corner however, with a move to world level also on the cards.
