New champion reveals what he wants from his legacy

Angelo Leo took on Luis Alberto Lopez two weeks ago and in a surprise victory, emerged as the IBF featherweight belt holder.
Leo is now 30, and has the chance to pursue unification fights in the coming months, and has already suggested that he would welcome a clash with pound-for-pound star, Japanese fighter Naoya Inoue.
Leo could fight again before the end of the year, either against Inoue or in another high-profile fight, if he gets his way.
Given his age, he has perhaps the best part of five years to stay active and look to secure a more enduring list of achievements beyond his IBF strap, and his previous tenure as the WBO junior featherweight champion.
Speaking to BoxingScene, Leo said that legacy was important to him.
He explained: “I want to be remembered as a fighter that gave his all in the ring, was technical, defended a great fight and hopefully made people smile.”
