Usyk doubles down on 'dangerous' Wilder for final farewell

The Ukrainian confirmed plans for a "last dance" in the wake of his late stoppage victory over Rico Verhoeven this past May.

Since then, the star has relinquished his heavyweight belts and set his sights on securing a farewell showdown against Wilder.

"Listen, this is a man who, over the last ten years has been a top fighter and world champion," he noted. "He's a dangerous guy."

Usyk and Wilder were reportedly in discussions over a fight in late 2025, before conversations fell apart between both camps.

The former moved for Verhoeven over mandatory challenger Fabio Wardley, while the latter instead tackled Derek Chisora.

Wilder scored a sloppy split-decision against 'War' at London's The O2 Arena in April, and has also been linked to a rematch.
