Pat Brown overcame the toughest test of his nascent cruiserweight career so far with an eighth-round stoppage victory over the sturdy Vasil Ducar.
The former Olympian returned to Planet Ice Altrincham seeking a sixth professional win in as many bouts after a blistering first year on the scene.
But he was taken into deep waters by the sturdy Czech veteran, who survived multiple knockdowns in the first half to keep his opponent on his toes.
Brown will take much from his latest triumph, namely the crucial extra rounds after a slew of early stoppages that have marked his tenure so far.

Yet there will be questions over his next move for promoter Eddie Hearn, with a bout against English champion John Hedges one potential option.
After a cagey first round, Brown put his left hand to use, alternating head and body work in an attempt to keep Ducar pushed towards the ropes.
The latter snapped a few choice uppercuts of his own through the younger star's guard, but seldom seemed to find the power required to hurt him.
A bloodied nose for Brown in the third round proved little detriment, but as the rounds added up, his counters became a little ragged on the edges.
Ducar sprung back from a fifth-round knockdown, and then from another trip to the canvas with some heft, dislodging his opponent's mouthguard.
But a final trip back to the ground saw him waved out after an eight-count from the referee back in his corner, handing Brown his latest success.
