That is what Romero is expecting from Lopez. Nothing more. Nothing less, as boxing is a profession where you don't get paid by the hour or by how many punches you throw or connect on.
"I mean, Teo's not going to go run around like a turkey," Romero told DAZN News. Teo's going to come fight. Teo's going to come fight. If there's any hope that I got for Teo/ Teo's going to come fight.
"He's not Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia's going to get scared and run around like a turkey. Teofimo's not going to get scared. He's going to try to fight."
With the styles Romero and Lopez like to implement, bodies aren't meant to absorb that type of punishment. In the past, Romero has talked about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. That's still the case for the three-division world champion.
"Once you detach from money, then it's not a problem anymore," Romero said. "It's like people want to just. What are they chasing? After how many belts, after how many this, all that stuff.
"Okay. Are they chasing more belts? Ok, then that's a real reason to stay. Are they chasing money? If they don't, are they going to be able to pay their mortgage or whatever luxury goods they want to buy? That's the real question."
