With a combined five world titles between them - one for Romero, four for Lopez - there's plenty of silverware in these lockers.

But he subsequently fell to a shock split decision against George Kambosos Jr., despite managing a tenth-round knockdown.

Then, after success at light-welterweight, he lost his WBO crown to Shakur Stevenson in a bruisingly lopsided affair in January.

Thus far, defeat has usually heralded a tried-and-tested move for each man - a curtain drawn on their time in whichever division.

But the stakes are a little different this time. For Lopez, a reverse would be a second in a row, and ask questions on his quality.
